This project is inspired by environmental issues in Mali and hand craft. I visited Mali, a country that was rich and fertile but is now facing desertification due to over grazing, bush fires, tree cutting and soil erosion. This broke my heart but I am looking at how one of the villages survived through that ordeal. With no access to clean water, electricity or any machines, they build mud houses, made their own clothes, basically hand crafting everything. This made me realise how we take things for granted and inspired me to create this hand-crafted collection to promote sustainable creativity and survival.
